SJKT LADANG PERBADANAN KEDAH (SJKT ARUMUGAM PILLAI)

This school was formerly known as Sekolah Arumugam Pillai,United Plantations Estate, as it was built buy philanthropist Dato’ N T S. Arumugam Pillai who owned the estate and several other plantations in the north-western region of Peninsular Malaysia.In 1984 the management of the United Plantations estate was taken over by the state controlled Kedah State Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) through an auction after he was slapped by a hefty tax bill.

This school was previously known as the Ladang Damansara Tamil school.In the 90s this school was relocated from its original location somewhere along Jalan Batu Tiga Lama,close to the Nippon Factory and the "Sekolah Menengah Teknik" of today.Apparently back then that part of Shah Alam was an estate called the Damansara Estate which got its name from the Damansara River; a prominent landmark in that area.
